Golden Gate

Our last day in San Francisco we explored the port on the Bay Bridge side. There is a nice little market with some fresh fruits and vegetables, a wine shop, cheese shop, etc. The best part was the truck out front that was literally a rotiserrie on wheels. We ate n awesome porchetta sandwich for lunch and then drove through the city one last time. SF is probably the most insane city to drive through. Besides the enumerable one way streets and ridiculously steep streets is that the maps are not accurate at all. A street will often simply end without notice forcing you to detour in circles.

We made it to the Golden Gate Bridge a little after noon and pulled over just north to snap some pictures. We walked about halfway across before turning back. When we got back to the car there were 3-4 cars pinned in their parking spots by a tour bus. I guess they were all waiting for me since I was the only one who could squeeze out. So as we left the others followed out in sequence.

We drove north in hopes of making it to Point Reyes but it was much further than we anticipated and the needle was dangerously close to E, and how fitting is it that in this situation the first station you get to is closed. We drove through some small towns and made our way south back towards the airport. We dropped off our trusty focus which took us 2156 kms safely.
