Big Sur/Basin

After Monterey we went south on Highway 1 to visit Carmel and Big Sur. We started out along 17 mile drive through Pebble Beach. There were some pretty ridiculous houses along the drive (you have to pay to drive on it). Carmel was pretty nice too, we didn't see Clint though. The rest of the drive down the coast was absolutely amazing, it was amazing view after amazing view.

We crossed over the Bixby Bridge and then south to Big Sur and camped at Plaskett Creek which was right next to the ocean. After a 10 minute walk you could climb down a gap in the ocean ridge to the rocky beach below. The waves were probably about 10 feet high that day, I'm sure Ryan woud have loved to surf them.

The next day we went straight back up the coast though this time the views were mostly covered in fog and then we camped at Big Basin Redwood Park with some of the cedar redwoods. This park was the first California state park.
