After LA we headed through Bakersfield to the Sequoia National Forest. We went from our dessert like campground to an elevation over 6000' where the sequoia trees stand. On the path of hundred giants we got our first look at the giant trees. Check the photo below of Tori standing in front of one to get an idea of how huge they are.
