Taiwan's Humpback Pink Dolphins Critically Endangered

In recent news, the Supreme Court ruled that the EPA's (Environmental Protection Agency) Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) on the already being built Central Science Park in Taichung County was void. The EPA's response? Minister Steven Shen has continued to ignore both the Supreme Court and a number of protestors by farmers, residents and environmental groups. Why? Because the Central Science Park is a sacred cow of Taiwan's economic development and one that will make millions of dollars for big industry and firms such as the Formosa Plastics Corporation, a corporate behemoth that no doubt contributes to the economy but produces by far the largest single share of carbon emissions in Taiwan and other contaminants into the atmosphere, soil and water.

Such is their influence that in meetings to discuss the environmental impact of the park, activists have been subject to physical and verbal abuse and outright denial of arguments against the park that have clear scientific and video evidence in their support. Please spread this video and post it on your blogs or link to it so that we can all help put the environment before the economy and stop the EPA acting as little more than a CPA - Corporate Protection Agency.

They're just wild animals? Not according to latest studies:

Emory University neuroscientist Lori Marino claims: "Dolphins are sophisticated, self-aware, highly intelligent beings with individual personalities, autonomy and an inner life. They are vulnerable to tremendous suffering and psychological trauma."
