Yamaha is still lacks its niche in the big bike segment in India. But now the vacancy will be completed with the new Yamaha FZ1. The riding and handling is comfortable for short distance travel but for long distance arduous to seat. The brakes are fantastic comes with 320mm discs in front and a 245mm single rotor at the rear.
Engine:
The Yamaha YZF-R1 liquid cooled engine is fitted in the Fz1 also with some tweaking in gear box to match the purpose of FZ1. It has four short stroke cylinders fitted in line giving a total displacement of 998cc. This new age engine delivers a torque of 10.8 kgm at 8000 rpm and generates power of 150bhp at 11000 rpm. The injection system gives better performance after 4000 rpm. The FZ1 performance at high-speed is amazing but lacks hold during low and mid range speed.
Design:
FZ1 has macho front design with masculine headlight. The headlight is arrow shaped and gives perfect illumination. Most of the portion of the bike is coated with black including five spoke alloy wheels, engine, front suspension, and silencer and side panels. The front mudguard is minimalist. The instrument panel has RPM gauge, digital display for speed, fuel level, engine temperature, odometer time as well as trip distance.
