Sri Lankan government opens four power plants for public viewing

The Sri Lankan government has opened four major power plants in the country for public viewing.

A government media announcement citing the Media Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy said the public will be offered the opportunity to view the Kelanitissa thermal plant, Victoria, Samanalawewa and Wimalasurendra hydropower plants from today.

According to the statement the Ceylon Electricity Board has appointed Coordinating Officers to facilitate the visitors who turn up to view the power plants.

The Ministry officials said people who are interested in visiting these power plants need to reserve a date and a time.

For Information and reservations the visitors could contact the Deputy General Managers of the Power Plants.
