What railfan doesn't have a favorite yard? The great or small area set aside for temporary storage of freight or passenger cars, yards could be noisy, busy places with lots of activity and acres of cars or a bit on the quiet sleepy side with one or two freight cars set out waiting for further transfer or assignment.
